wall tree with a twist and a twig

As there exists no Christmas tree that is safe for or from my persistent and determined little 1 1/2 year old climbers, I decided that this year we would have our tree on a wall. I’ve done masking tape trees before, so this year I decided to do a simple, crocheted one. This is, believe it or not, 8 whole feet of garland. No, I wouldn’t have time to whip another one up these days… I crocheted it while watching movies during my pregnancy. But since I already had it, it took me less than 20 minutes to figure out what I wanted to do with it and set it up on the wall using thumbtacks. I added a twig and some laser cut out “ornaments” and had a perfect little tree.

This can also easily be done with ribbon or tape as well. The best part of this is… installation and cleanup is a cinch. And as my only time to do, well anything, is while the twins are sleeping, this was a perfect little nap time project. Another plus if you have limited space as we do… no need to store a bunch of bulky decorations.

When Lucky and Stone woke up from their naps and saw it on the wall their little faces lit up, which in turn, had the effect of lighting up my entire being. Happy Holiday Season!
